POSITION:                Receptionist
LOCATION:              Branch County-Coldwater Office
CLASSIFICATION:  Regular, Part-time

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Community Resource Manager in accordance with established policies and procedures, serves as a receptionist for the office and performs a variety of clerical and office tasks and projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Answers incoming telephone calls; determines person, office or information desired; refers to directories as required and directs calls to appropriate person.
  • Receives and greets visitors, provides general information, notifies appropriate staff members, provides directions, and directs deliveries to appropriate staff.
  • Performs a variety of typing, copying tasks and projects.
  • Assists in the distribution of interoffice correspondence and mail.
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned by supervising staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires knowledge normally acquired by completing a high school education or its equivalent and one to two years of college, technical, vocational, trade, or business school with course work in secretarial skills, word processing, spreadsheet use and computer data entry/management.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Between one and two years of progressively more responsible or expansive experience related to clerical or office assistance, data entry, records, or date management is required.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with the public, departmental supervisors, and staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work with detailed data.
  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet critical deadlines.
  • Intermediate-level computer skills. Experience in the Agency's Windows-based software programs.
  • Experience with Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access desired.
