Proclaimed Foster Grandparent Volunteer Day January 25, 2012: Governor, Rick Snyder has proclaimed January 25, 2012 as Foster Grandparent Volunteer Day. Each year, more than 1,100 foster grandparent volunteers in Michigan contribute approximately 1,000,000 hours of service to nearly 8,000 children with special or unique needs, helping them overcome various educational and life skill challenges.
Show Me the Money Day - VITA January 28, 2012: The 2012 Show Me The Money Day is scheduled for Saturday, January 28 at the Battle Creek Y. The Calhoun County Tax Coalition is looking for various community partners to help make this event a success for our community. As part of a statewide event that coincides with National Earned Income Credit Day, this day is aimed at providing Battle Creek residents access to and information regarding available community services and opportunities that will build financial security. There are many ways for groups to get involved, whether you represent a financial institution, service agency or education institution - we need your support!
